Hello my loves!

Today I want to share a mask I have been using that has been passed down to me by my grandmother (shout out to my boss lady Nanima). This is a fail safe mask for me and has never disappointed in its effects. I use this mask when my skin is feeling dull, congested or needs a refresher that isn’t as intense as a clay based mask. Anytime I have been wearing a lot of makeup or I’ve fallen off my skin care regime I use this mask to get it back on track. Not only does it exfoliate my skin but also helps clarify, hydrate and nourish the skin. According to my Nanima this mask is something anyone can incorporate in their regime by just substituting a few of the ingredients dependent on their skin type. The best part of this mask is it is completely natural and can even be applied to other body parts like your back, decollate, etc.

Now for the ingredients you will need the following:

  • 2 tablespoons- Gram Flour (also known as Chick Pea Flour)

  • 1/2 Teaspoon - Turmeric Powder

  • 1 Teaspoon- Honey (If you’re Vegan you can substitute this with coconut milk and skip the yogurt as well)

  • 1 Tablespoon- Yogurt (preferably full fat, Greek works well too)

  • 1 Teaspoon- Organic Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon ( Skip this step if you have dry skin or use only 1/2 a teaspoon of lemon juice)

How to use:

Apply to a clean face and neck for 20- 30 min. I like to store the mask in the fridge for a little bit to have a cooling feeling on my skin when applied but you don’t have to do this step. I like to apply this mask as a part of my evening routine. My favourite method of applying this mask is actually after a warm shower or steaming my face when my pores are open. I then apply the mask and rinse it with warm water once it has dried. After I completely remove the mask I like to do a quick rinse with cold water or ice my face to close my pores and stimulate blood circulation. I then carry on with my skincare products. Since this is a natural mask you do need to use it consistently 2 - 3 times a week on alternative days in order to see an improvement. I find even applying it once a week gives my skin a decent refresher when I am too lazy to apply it ever other day.

You can store it in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to a week. These measurements usually give me 2 - 3 applications.
